At YWCA Canberra, we recognise that there is no one way of leading. Women, non-binary people and people from diverse backgrounds lead differently, and this helps organisations grow and consider a broad spectrum of ideas, experiences and opinions. However, too often diverse voices are left out of the conversation and their leadership potential ignored in the workplace.

The She Leads Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420) builds on a traditional Diploma of Leadership and Management by:

  • acknowledging and addressing the perspectives, challenges and opportunities for women and non-binary people in leadership
  • challenging and reframing the concept of leadership
  • including a feminist and intersectional diversity focus
  • recognising and celebrating all levels of leadership
  • emphasising self-exploration and development
  • having facilitators who are experts in their field
  • including five panels of three diverse women and non-binary leaders.

Through the course, you will get the opportunity to gain best-practice skills, theoretical knowledge, and networks to accelerate your leadership journey, all in a safe and supportive environment. You will participate in panel discussions with inspiring leaders who will share their personal leadership stories, perspectives, insights and strategies, and will be matched with a coach from our pool of diverse local leaders. You will learn, laugh and link with like-minded people, and form a support network that extends well beyond graduation day.
